Conte May Feature Eagles Star, Aina, Against West Brom

Chelsea starlet and Super Eagles new invitee, Ola Aina, might feature in Blues’ next English Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion.

The 20 year old Aina who made his EPL debut last October 15 in a 3-0 victory over reigning champion, Leicester City, might be call upon by Chelsea Manager, Antonio Conte.

Conte in a post match conference after Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough’s made it clear that he will test run some of his upcoming stars in his forthcoming games.

It is an opportunity for Ola Aina. Conte remarked: “I am delighted we won the league. I give kudos to my players.

“They have done so well in their quest to clinch the title. I will certainly bench some of them in our next coming game.

“I see no reason why I should keep using the big boys in the team. We still have a long way to go. I see next season being a tough for us.

“All I can do is to rest them and warn them to play save any time they were been call upon to feature for their national team during the pre season.”

“All I am thinking of is to test run some of the upcoming players in the club who has find it difficult to feature for the blues this season.”

The news which will certainly favours the Nigeria born star, Aina who became the cynosure of all eyes after replacing team captain, John Terry in Chelsea 3-2 victory over Bristol City during the August 23 2016 EFL Cup.

Rivers flow to the top!

Rivers United have launched themselves to the top of the log at the end of the match day 5 of the Nigeria Premier League. The Port Harcourt side beat Akwa United 2-1 to go afloat after initial leaders, Remo Stars crumbled to a 1-0 defeat at Kwara United in Ilorin on Sunday.

It was Remo Stars’ first defeat in the season. Rivers United are now with 13 points. Stephen Mayo put Rivers United ahead after 31 minutes. But it turned a temporary lead as Akwa United bounced back almost at the blast of the referee’s whistle for the second half.

Friday Apollos levelled up for Akwa United before Ndifreke Effiong Udo scored the winner in the 85^th minute.

Enyimba’s duel with Katsina United plunges into darkness

Former Nigerian champions, Enyimba were coasting to a comfortable 3-0 lead before the game got enveloped by darkness.

The game could not be completed after 75 minutes when the floodlights of the arena suddenly went off.

According to a post on Enymba x-handle, the match will resume at 8.00 am on Monday “ as agreed by both teams and the match officials.”

Amuneke’s Heartland secures first win this season

Heartland finally got into winning ways on Sunday after the Owerri side secured a 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes.

The club, under former Super Eagles’ assistant coach, Emmanuel Amuneke had gone four matches without a win, finding themselves swimming in the murky waters of relegation.

A brace by Michael Ogu has lifted the club which climbed up to the 16^th position. They had begun the season badly losing at home to Enyimba and failing to win any of the subsequent three matches.
