Nigeria’s Kizz Daniel to ‘Buga’ at Qatar 2022 today
Nigeria’s music sensation, Kizz Daniel, who along with Tekno released ‘Buga(lo lo)’ song on 3 May will take the centre stage this Wednesday at the FIFA Fan Festival, here at Doha’s Al Park.
The FIFA Fan Festival is a recently intoduced reimagined fan destination and on-site entertainment experience for fans at World Cup.
According to FIFA, this multidimensional, inclusive event will provide new ways for fans to celebrate their shared passion for football while experiencing the very best in music, entertainment, local culture, food, games and lifestyle in a true festival environment.
Kizz Daniel will be second artist on stage after that of America’s Diplo on Tuesday.
His ‘Buga’ released early last May had a blistering three-month run and became the most popular song in Nigeria.
Daniel, whose real name is Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe is a multi-award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats, Pop, R&B singer, and songwriter.
He is the epitome of an all-around entertainer with a magnetic tone, captivating lyrics, an alluring screen presence and undeniably engaging beats; the irrefutable characteristic of all his songs.
He is the founder of Fly Boy Inc record label, which launched operations in 2017,
Kizz Daniel hails from Ogun state, where he completed his education, graduating with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology in 2013.
Fresh out of university, Kizz Daniel made an immediate impact with the timeless hit song “Woju” in 2014, , which was named the Hottest Single at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
In 2015, Kiss Daniel released a follow-up single, “Lave”, another sensational hit, on his birthday and two weeks later released the video, which was directed by AJE FILMS and shot in different locations, including the eastern part of Africa. The following year, Kizz released his first studio album, ”New Era”.
The talented artist has worked with other award-winning artistes such as Wizkid on the sensational song “For you” and Davido on the instant classic “One Ticket”, which trended within 24 hours of its release.
In 2018, Kizz released his second studio album, “No Dad Songz” and featured acts such as South African sensation, Nasty C, Tanzanian hitmaker, Diamond Platnumz, and many others.
The album “No Bad Songz” debuted at No. 55 on the US iTunes Chart and became No. 1 on the World Album Chart within 24 hours of its release.
Former England soccer captain David Beckham and actor Gary Oldman were knighted in King Charles’ annual birthday honours list on Saturday, while sculptor Antony Gormley was made a Companion of Honour.
Beckham, 50, joined Manchester United as a trainee in 1993, going on to make almost 400 appearances for the club where he won a string of titles and cups.
He subsequently played for Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and Inter Milan, as well as captaining his country 58 times and making 115 appearances.
His marriage to fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham in 1999 cemented a celebrity status which went far beyond his sporting exploits.
Oldman, 67, started his career on the stage, where he was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, before rising to prominence in film. He won the best actor Oscar for playing Winston Churchill in the 2017 drama “Darkest Hour”.
He also had roles in the “Dark Knight Trilogy” and the “Harry Potter” movie series and more recently starred in the TV spy drama “Slow Horses”.
Other famous names receiving honours included damehoods for musical theatre star Elaine Paige, novelist Pat Barker and ceramics maker Emma Bridgewater.
Roger Daltrey, lead singer of rock band the Who and a patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust, received a knighthood for services to charity.
More than 1,200 people received honours for their achievements, with a particular focus on those who had given their time to public service, the government said.
King Charles’ official birthday will be celebrated with the annual “Trooping the Colour” military parade in London on Saturday. His actual birthday is on November 14

But at age 40, the Portuguese soccer superstar is reaching new highs.
Over the past 12 months, counting both his playing salary at Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr and his off-field business endeavors, Ronaldo collected an estimated $275 million before taxes and agent fees—the third-best year by an active athlete ever measured by Forbes.
On that all-time list, Ronaldo is surpassed only by boxer Floyd Mayweather, who earned $300 million in 2015 and $285 million in 2018.
And when it comes to the 2025 leaderboard, Ronaldo has a $119 million advantage over No. 2, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.

This year is also only the second time, after 2024, that every member of the top 10 made at least $100 million.
