Sulley Muntari who spearheaded the camp crisis over bonuses in the Ghanaian team during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil is set to return to the team after writing a letter of apology to the football federation.

It was gathered that the 37-year old player who has been exiled from the team for eight years owing to the recommendations by the Dzamefe Committee that investigated the matter was asked to tender a written apology before he could play for the country again.

He initially refused. But when agitations began for his inclusion following his performance recently with local club, Accra Hearts of Oak, and coupled with dirth of star players that could match the Super Eagles in the up-coming fixtures in the World Cup, he was pressurised to write the letter of apology.

“I have reflected on what happened and I am deeply sorry and apologize to all the stakeholders in the GFA who were offended by my actions.

“Ghana has a special place in my heart and I will forever be indebted to my country and all the fans who have supported me from the beginning.

The President, Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN), Francis Orbih, has been elected as a council member of the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

The election took place during the BWF Annual General Meeting on Saturday in Xiamen, China.

“I look forward to quality representation, driving development initiatives, and strengthening badminton’s global reach over the next four years.”

Orbih also acknowledged the support of the Federal Government of Nigeria, particularly the National Sports Commission (NSC), which he said played a significant role in his successful bid.
